About Watchfl

The name of the blog is pronounced “Watchful” – not “Watch Florida” or “Watch-Fi.” The real spelling was taken, along with most of the other clever titles I came up with.

I’ve always thought movies are fascinating and historically important, but lamented over the never-ending list of those I mean to see (like Citizen Kane), and those I’ve heard of all my life but know nothing about (like Citizen Kane). While I don’t think that all the best movies have been Oscar nominees, or that all Oscar nominees have been good movies, I do think watching every “best picture” candidate in history is a good foundation on which to build.

Watchfl is the traveler’s log where I track my progress down the long list of nominees, but I watch a lot of other movies, too, so we’ll have some randoms mixed in from time to time.
